today in period 6 we got into our groups from yesterday, the first thing we had to do was create a distance vs. time graph (distance was x axis and time was y axis) we had to look at the data we pulled from trail one the day before and graph the four data times we got from the first trial.A distance in time graph will always increase in time as Mr. Lane explained on the bored, because

The groups then dsicussed what they could figure out from their graphs,
1.time was increasing 2.distance was increasing 3.how far we went (100 yrds) 4.how long it took us to get there
"there will be questions showing graphs with this information where we have to figure out how fast we were going, DISTANCE DIVIDED BY TIME" -Mr. Lane
the difference between the time it took to get to the first "check point" (the place where the timers stopped their watches)and the time it took to get to the second "check point" told us how long it took him to travel the 25 yrds each time.
the information from our data showed that Mr. Lanes car slowed down because the time it took to get from 25 yrds to 50 yrds increased from the time it took to get from 0 yrds to 25 yrds.
the groups then found the differences for the rest of there data and added it to the graph.
we found that Mr. Lane went faster during trial 2 then trial 1 because the time it took him to get the end the first time was 8 seconds, but the time it took him to get to the end the second time was 7 seconds. we also found out that the second trial, the distance between the "check points" should all be the same because his speed didnt increase or decresase. The reason they were a little different was because reflex's are different and it takes longer for the image to get from your eyes to your hands.
so, if the time differences are the same the car speed did not change, if the times increased the car got slower, and if the times decreased the car went faster.
