Today during physics we learned how to use the graphic organizer on pages. The symbol for distance is (d). Symbols are used for long words. On the graphic organizer we created a web. We also learned units for distance which are meters, miles, feet, yards etc..... The center shape of the web contains the symbol for distance. Another shape gets introduced were an image of a meter is added. The image gets labeled its unit: meter and the symbol for meter is (m). As well as images of feet, miles and yards form part of the web all being related to distance. To make it easier for us the students to understand all of these units, images were used to help us out. For example for the unit of feet, an image of a persons feet or the cover of the movie happy feet was attached next to its unit.
